RESUMO

Pulmonary artery pseudoaneurysms (PAPs) are rare serious vascular abnormalities mostly due to infections and trauma, although other conditions such as vasculitis, neoplasms, or inflammatory lung diseases can also predispose to this entity. Endovascular techniques such as embolization or covered stent placement have mostly substituted surgical approaches, for their lower invasiveness and greater security, mainly in patients with life-threatening hemoptysis. The purpose of this manuscript is to describe the imaging findings of pulmonary artery pseudoaneurysms and their endovascular management including tips to help interventional radiologists. PAP should be diagnosed as accurately and early as possible in order to prompt endovascular management of further life-threatening hemoptysis. KEY POINTS: • Pulmonary artery pseudoaneurysms (PAPs) are rare serious vascular abnormalities that may represent a life-threatening condition, mainly due to Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, or Mycobacterium tuberculosis. • Radiologists should know the imaging findings of PAP in order to make an accurate and early diagnosis to prompt endovascular management of further life-threatening hemoptysis.

PET with somatostatin analogues (SSA PET/CT) enables the detection of cells with overexpression of somatostatin receptors, especially subtypes 2 and 5; this detection is variable depending on the type of molecule used. This is the basis for its use in the study of neuroendocrine tumours (NETs), which are characterized by an overexpression of these receptors in more than 80% of the subtypes. This PET is now being used in our country supported by the good results published by other groups, that were superior to those of other imaging techniques. We present two of the first cases of SSA-PET/CT with 68Ga-edotreotide (SomaKit TOC(R)) performed in our centre. SSA-PET/CT was the test that finally determined the clinical management of both patients

Steatocystoma multiplex is a rare cutaneous syndrome characterized by multiple small intradermal yellowish nodules located in the thorax, axillae, and upper limbs. Sometimes, this entity goes unnoticed and is shown in imaging studies like mammography. The mammogram shows multiple bilateral hypodense intradermal nodules with well-defined margins and thin, non-calcified walls in the periphery of the breast. At ultrasonography, these nodules are hypoechoic with well-defined margins and posterior echogenicity. Thus, it is important for radiologists to be familiar with steatocystoma multiplex to reach the correct diagnosis. We present a case in which mammography and sonography showed typical lesions of steatocystoma multiplex and later physical examination provided the diagnosis(AU)
